Mission Statement:
To provide services to victims and their children to address domestic violence issues and to assist victims and children with alternative solutions to the problem.
 
What is domestic violence?
It is a pattern of behavior that may include physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, and economic abuse that affects people who are married, dating, living together, and/or related to each other. If you recognize any of the following signs in your relationship or in someone you know, it is a strong indication that there is domestic abuse taking place:

Constant criticism, humiliation, and berating.
li
Extreme jealousy and/or over protectiveness, which may include isolation from family and friends.
li
Threats against you, your children, family, and/or pets.
li
Deprivation of money, credit cards, and other financial resources.  Forced surrender of your paycheck and any other income.
li
Intimidation and manipulation.
li
Shoving, hitting, spitting, biting, kicking or smacking.
li
Forcing sex or sexual acts.
li
Limitation of social activity.
SAFETY PLAN:
If you are planning to leave an abusive relationship, have the following items hidden in a place where your partner cannot find them:
li $50.00 or more in cash
li A small bag with extra clothing for you and your children
li Any important papers, including:
  liBank account numbers
  liCheck book
  liSocial security numbers for you and your children
  liInsurance policies
  liMarriage license
  liBirth certificates for you and your children
  liList of important phone numbers (family and friends)
li Sentimental valuables and photos
li Any special medication for you and your children
li Extra keys for house and car
