Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

Recruits, places, and supports older citizens in humanitarian pursuits effecting measurable improvements in community life in Surry, and Yadkin Counties. RSVP serves to “engage persons 55 and older in volunteer service to meet critical community needs and to provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of volunteers”. RSVP fulfills this function by matching recruited seniors with service providers whose missions are compatible with these aspiring volunteers’ interests, abilities, and desired levels of challenge. RSVP provides enrolled volunteers with technical support, insurance coverage, limited mileage reimbursement, and recognition for their contributions. RSVP receives fiscal support from the Corporation for National Service, county governments, local United Fund agencies, and fund-raising initiatives.
